Use simple transition words to show addition, contrast, cause, and result.
Transitions help readers understand how ideas are connected. Words such as also, however, therefore, and for example signal the relationship between sentences. In academic writing, transitions should clarify meaning, not decorate the paragraph.
Choose the transition that matches the logic. Use however for contrast, therefore for result, and for example before a supporting example.
