Answer Detail Questions With Evidence

Practice finding the sentence or phrase that directly supports a factual answer.

Detail questions ask about information that is stated in the passage. The answer is not based on opinion or outside knowledge. Your job is to locate the relevant part of the passage and match it carefully to the option.

Useful clues include names, dates, numbers, repeated nouns, and transition words. Read the question first, identify the keyword, then scan the passage for the same idea. Wrong answers often repeat words from the passage but change the meaning.
